How to remove stain inside your sink
Removing stains from a sink can depend on the material of the sink (stainless steel, porcelain, ceramic, etc.), but here are general methods that work for most sink types:
1. Baking Soda and Vinegar (for porcelain or stainless steel sinks)
- Step 1: Sprinkle baking soda over the stained area.
- Step 2: Spray or pour white vinegar onto the baking soda. It will fizz and help break down the stain.
- Step 3: Scrub gently with a soft sponge or cloth. Use a toothbrush for tougher stains or hard-to-reach areas.
- Step 4: Rinse with warm water, and wipe the sink dry.
2. Lemon and Salt (for light stains)
- Step 1: Cut a lemon in half and sprinkle salt on the stain.
- Step 2: Use the lemon as a scrubber, pressing it down into the salt.
- Step 3: Rinse with warm water and wipe dry.
3. Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda (for tough stains on porcelain)
- Step 1: Make a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide.
- Step 2: Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Step 3: Scrub gently, then rinse and wipe dry.
4. Bleach or Oxygen-Based Cleaners (for deep stains)
- Step 1: For white sinks, you can fill the sink with warm water and add a capful of bleach or an oxygen-based cleaner.
- Step 2: Let it soak for 15-20 minutes.
- Step 3: Drain, rinse, and scrub any remaining stains gently.
5. Magic Eraser (for stubborn stains)
- Step 1: Wet a magic eraser and scrub the stained area.
- Step 2: Rinse and wipe clean.
Always be cautious with abrasive cleaners or brushes, as they can scratch certain surfaces like stainless steel or porcelain.
